If you saw the TechCrunch announcement introducing 500 Startups’ 22nd batch, you might have seen a familiar name on the list: Ours. MailHaven is thrilled to spend the next few months in San Francisco with 35 other amazing startups working hard to bring you the best products and services possible.

What is 500 Startups?

500 Startups is an early-stage startup program that invests in founders and accelerates growth and marketing. Their original plan was to invest in 500 fledgling companies. They’ve exceeded that goal by providing support to more than 1,700 tech startups since 2010.

Why 500 Startups?

500 Startups makes investing in diverse startups and founders a priority. MailHaven has a diverse team of individuals driven to succeed. More than a quarter of the companies in their last five batches have been led by women and nearly 45% of the founders they’ve invested in are people of color. 500 Startups and MailHeaven couldn’t be a better match.

What does this mean for MailHaven?

Lots of great things:

  • 150K investment from 500 Startups
  • World-class mentoring
  • Leveraging 500 Startups expertise at early-stage growth and marketing
  • Connecting with other startups on the rise – Our company is in good company

Cool. What are the other 35 startups like?

It’s been both motivating and inspiring to be surrounded by so many passionate, talented founders. We’re all learning from each other and helping each other make the right introductions. We’re really looking forward to the remainder of our time together.

How’s it been so far?

We just completed what they call “Marketing Hell Week,” which is five straight days of lectures on marketing and growth tactics – 25 lectures total! It’s intense, but we’re already implementing many of things we’ve learned.

Well, congratulations!

Thank you! It was a long journey to get here, but you know what they say, “Third time’s a charm!” Read our 500 Startups backstory on Medium.
